This was a school assignment where we were given about two weeks to create a magazine. It did not take me very long to decide that a wanted to do a magazine about poetry. However the problem I was facing was to make it a fun experience for the reader, because many people think of poetry as quite dull and boring. Therefore I wanted to have all poems illustrated, to “bring them to life”. It also struck me rather quickly how most poetry, that I am familiar with, is on the older side, so I thought it would be fun to contrast it with someting very modern. My idea was to use AI and let it interpret the poems and turn them in to pictures. For this i used Dalle 2 to generate images, which i edited in Photoshop and Illustrator to match my vision. To add even further contrast to the magazine I choose to give the images and the text a bit of a graffiti-feeling, aswell as using rather bright colors. I think that it creats a fun contrast between the subject of the texts and how it is presented. I choose to call the magazine “Scriptum” which in latin means any type of written text.
