Poster

Event

I created this poster for an event at my school called “Klädbytardagen”. It is an event where the schools students can “trade in” there old clothes and also get a chance to find something new to wear themselves. The thinking is that someting you have in you wardrobe which you don’t use, may be perfect for someone else. The event was created to decrease the amount of clothes that gets thrown away. The tricky bit for me was trying to create a poster that both made the students want to participate in the event, but also create a poster that would inform them of everything about the day.

My idea was to make a poster that in itself looked “second hand”. I did this by creating a fake “tear” in the poster. This also allowed me to fit a lot of information on the poster without making it feel to “crowded”. I also gave it a bit of a graffiti-feeling to pay tribute to the streets of New York, where wearing second hand, the way we do today, have been a thing for a long time.
